A former West Valley Middle School teacher was arrested last week on allegations of raping a student. The student told police that she had a years-long relationship with the teacher, starting when she was 15 and ending in her early 20s. She is now in her 30s. She explained to the police that she and her friends would hang out in his classroom during lunch, where he would be flirty and hug them. They started meeting outside of school hours, where the teacher offered the underage girl alcohol and groomed her.
